Hajo Reijers** is a full professor in Computer Science at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU). Next to this, he has a part-time appointment at Eindhoven University of Technology. He received a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics and Computer Science (2002), an M.Sc. degree in Computer Science (1994), and an M.Sc. degree in Technology and Society (1994), all from TU/e. Hajo worked as a management consultants for many years, especially in the domains of financial services and government. The focus of his current research is on business process redesign, workflow management, business process modeling, and simulation. On these topics, he published over 150 scientific papers, chapters in edited books, and articles in professional journals. He received a PhD degree (Dr. rer. pol.) as well as a master degree in Information Systems from the Humboldt University Berlin, Germany. Before his graduation, he worked for several departments of the pharmaceutical division of Bayer in Germany and the USA. His current research interests include business process analysis, business process modelling, compliance checking, and natural language processing. The results of his research have been published in the context of over 50 scientific papers. She holds a PhD in Information and Computing Sciences from Utrecht University and was a visiting scholar at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. Her research interests concern the interaction between information systems, organizations, and individuals. Currently she is involved in research projects on workarounds and process mining in healthcare.
